Munir Ahmed's Story

Munir Ahmed, a 29-year-old man from Kashmir, has been experiencing recurrent bouts of epigastric pain for three years. He took antacids and PPIs but the relief was temporary only. After suffering for a while, he decided to consult a specialist, who conducted some medical tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed Munir with Peptic Ulcer Disease. It is characterized by the formation of open sores in the stomach lining, leading to burning stomach pain and indigestion. His doctor recommended an endoscopy; a procedure to visually examine the internal lining of upper gastrointestinal tract. However, the cost of the procedure is beyond Munir’s financial reach.

Munir’s life is extremely affected by the pain and discomfort due to his chronic illness.

Without endoscopy and treatment, his untreated peptic ulcer can lead to severe complications such as internal bleeding, perforation of the stomach lining, or obstruction in the digestive tract due to scarring.

Munir lives in a small brick house with his joint family of nine members. He is an office employee and earns just PKR 35000 per month. Munir and his brother hardly make ends meet after covering the educational expenses of PKR 6000 and utility bills of PKR 1000 every month. Moreover, they are burdened with a staggering loan of PKR 300,000 which makes the financial situation worse. They have no room left for savings to pay for his much-needed medical procedure. During this time of need, Munir contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

Munir expressed his plea as follows:

“The pain due to my illness is unbearable, and I just want to find relief. Each day brings new challenges, and I’m terrified of what lies ahead. I feel hopeless as I can’t afford the procedure. I need your help to find peace.”

This vital procedure is crucial not only for Munir’s physical health but also for his ability to continue to live a happy life and provide for his family. We are reaching out to you for your help. Your contributions can make a world of difference in Munir’s life.

Let’s join hands and give Munir a happy and healthy life.

Munir Ahmed's Story

Munir Ahmed, a 29-year-old man from Kashmir, had been experiencing intermittent episodes of epigastric pain for three years. He received symptomatic treatment but the relief was temporary. Due to his chronic pain, he found it difficult to eat and sleep. After suffering for a while, he decided to consult a specialist, who after a thorough examination and evaluation diagnosed Munir with Peptic Ulcer Disease. The doctor advised him to undergo an endoscopy to visually examine the internal lining of the upper gastrointestinal tract. This news hit him hard, as the cost of the procedure was beyond what he could afford.

Munir lives in a modest house with his joint family of nine members. He is an office employee and earns just PKR 35,000 per month. He struggles to make ends meet. With limited resources and no savings at all, Munir felt helpless. That’s when Transparent Hands stepped in to help him. Through the contributions of donors, we were able to arrange an endoscopy for him at one of our panel hospitals.

On 19th September 2024, Munir’s endoscopy was performed at Lahore Care Hospital. This was performed by Dr. Saleem Ullah.  His biopsy was also done and he was diagnosed with Chronic gastritis with positive H.Pylori infection. Munir was placed on a proper treatment regimen to help heal his stomach ulcer.

Munir expressed his emotions as follows:

"I can't thank you enough. The pain had taken over my life, and I was afraid of what would happen next. Your support has not only given me back my health but also my peace of mind."

You have given Munir a healthy and happy life once again. He and his family are incredibly grateful to you for making a meaningful impact on his life. Munir is now recovering and is ready to face the challenges of life with new hope and resilience.

You proved to be a light in his darkest hour.
