Muhammad Zohan's Story

Muhammad Zohan, a 3-year-old boy from Multan, has been experiencing short-sightedness and blurry vision since birth. For three months, his vision has been severely impacted and he struggles to see things clearly. It has become significantly challenging for Zohan to engage in activities like playing and interacting with peers. He can’t navigate his environment properly, often bumping into things due to impaired vision. His parents took him to a local hospital and received a consultation from a doctor. After a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed him with a left eye cataract. To restore his vision, the doctor advised left Phaco + IOL surgery. However, the significant cost of the surgery is out of his family’s financial capacity.

His condition has led to feelings of frustration. If left untreated, his cataract may slowly get worse. It will ultimately increase the risk of blindness.

Zohan lives in a small rented house with his parents. His father is the only breadwinner in the family, and he works as a daily wage laborer. He makes just PKR 30,000 per month, which is inadequate to cover their house rent of PKR 8000, and utility bills adding up to PKR 2500. The family is surviving in extreme poverty and they barely make ends meet. Affording to pay for the surgery is a significant challenge for them as they don’t even have any savings. During this time of need, Zohan’s family turned to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

Zohan’s parents expressed their plea as follows:

“Zohan is our beloved son and it hurts us when we see him struggling to see his friends’ faces.  With each passing day, his vision worsens, and he faces difficulty carrying out his daily tasks. We don’t have enough money to pay for his surgery and give him a clear vision. Please help us!”

Zohan’s life will dramatically improve after surgery. Only you can turn his dark and confined world into a brighter and vibrant one.

Together, we can change Zohan’s life and give him the gift of clear vision which he desperately longs for.

Muhammad Zohan's Story

Muhammad Zohan, a 4-year-old boy from Multan, had faced vision impairment since birth. Simple activities such as recognizing faces, playing with toys, or navigating familiar surroundings had been difficult for him. This condition slowed down his development and limited his ability to enjoy the joys of childhood. Worried about his condition, Zohan’s parents took him to a local hospital, hoping to find answers. After a thorough medical examination and a series of tests, the doctor diagnosed him with a cataract in his left eye. His doctor advised LMA + IOL surgery to restore his vision completely. Sadly, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family's reach.

Zohan lived in a small rented house with his parents. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 30,000 per month. With such a limited income, the family barely managed to meet their everyday needs. Despite their best efforts, they found themselves unable to arrange the money required for Zohan’s second surgery. During their time of need, Zohan’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. With the help of kind donors, we were able to provide him with much-needed treatment.

On February 10, 2025, Zohan was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan. Dr. Hassan successfully performed the LMA + IOL surgery on February 13, 2025. Zohan was discharged in a stable condition on the same day.

Zohan’s mother shared her gratitude as follows: "My son is beginning to see the world clearly now, and it fills our hearts with hope. Your support has changed our lives. Thank you for giving my child a brighter future."

After the surgery, his vision is gradually improving, bringing immense joy to his family. All of it was made possible through your support. Your contributions have brightened his world and his family is extremely thankful to you for your kindness.
