“A crippled animal whose limp is obvious is not to be slaughtered as sacrifice, nor an animal with a bad eye whose blindness is obvious, nor a sick animal whose sickness is obvious, nor an emaciated animal that has no marrow (in its bones).”
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1497)
Every year, Muslims around the world perform Qurbani on Eid-al-Adha after the Eid prayer. Eid-al-Adha starts on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah.
Qurbani meat is divided into three portions: one for the person who has given Qurbani, another for their friends and family, and at least one-third should go to the poor and needy. However, a large number of Muslims opt to donate all three portions of the Qurbani meat to deserving families. Transparent Hands distributes 100% (all portions) of the Qurbani meat among the poor and needy.
Sacrificial animals for Eid-al-Adha typically include cows, sheep, goats, camels, and buffaloes. We need to ensure that the Qurbani animals are not only healthy but also old enough to be sacrificed.
Refrain from cutting your hair and nails from the start of Dhul Hijjah until you perform Qurbani.
Each goat or sheep you sacrifice is equal to one share, while cows, camels, and buffaloes are each divided into seven equal parts. You have the option to donate more than one Qurbani share.
To ensure your Qurbani is performed within the designated days of Eid, please make your donation by the first day of Eid-Ul-Adha. Transparent Hands closes all online Qurbani donations on this day to ensure the sacrifice is completed by the third day of Eid.
