Ishrat Usman's Story

Ishrat Usman, a 28-year-old woman from Karachi, was preparing to welcome her third child, but her pregnancy was filled with stress instead of joy. Soon after confirming her pregnancy, she visited a gynecologist at a nearby hospital for evaluation. Due to her history of two previous C-sections, the doctor advised that she undergo another C-section to ensure a safe delivery. A natural delivery was not possible for her, and delaying the procedure could have placed both her life and her baby’s life at serious risk.

Ishrat and her husband lived in a small rented house with their two young children. Her husband worked as a laborer, earning only PKR 18,000 per month. This income barely covered their basic living expenses. Managing the high cost of the required surgery seemed impossible. As her pregnancy progressed, the fear of complications continued to grow. It left the family anxious about how they would manage the much-needed C-section. During this time of need, her family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Upon listening to their concerns, we registered her case.

With the support of generous donors, Ishrat was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi on September 16, 2025. On the same day, Dr. Farkhanda Saeed performed her C-section, and Ishrat gave birth to a healthy baby girl. The surgery went smoothly, and she received proper postoperative care. Her newborn daughter was also monitored closely and remained stable throughout her stay in the hospital. They were discharged in stable condition on September 18, 2025.

Ishrat expressed her happiness as follows:

Today, Ishrat is recovering well at home, holding her newborn daughter with peace of mind. The fear that once overshadowed her pregnancy has been replaced with relief and gratitude.
