You Relieved Zubaida Bibi’s Abdominal Pain

Zubaida Bibi's Story

Zubaida Bibi, a 64-year-old woman from Bhakkar, was experiencing right abdominal pain and intermittent bouts of nausea and vomiting. Her condition was affecting her physically and emotionally. Moreover, it restrained her from fulfilling her responsibilities as a mother and wife. After taking medicines for a long time, she decided to consult a specialist who performed some lab tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed Zubaida with Cholelithiasis. To ease her pain, the doctor strongly recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was beyond her family’s financial means.

Zubaida lived in a small house with her four family members. Her husband passed away a few years ago. Her children are young and studying. Her relatives and brother supported her financially to cover living expenses. Zubaida, being a widow, felt helpless as she faced extreme financial barriers while accessing surgical treatment. Zubaida and her children were surviving in poverty. She couldn’t spend quality time with her children and her health was deteriorating with time. After struggling for a while, she decided to contact Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.

On 25th October 2024, Zubaida Bibi was admitted to Maryam Memorial Hospital in Rawalpindi. Her surgery took place on 26th October 2024. Dr. Faryal performed her laparoscopic cholecystectomy. After receiving post-operative care and essential medications, she was discharged in stable condition on 28th October 2024.

Zubaida Bibi was overjoyed and she said:
