You Lit Up Alishba Khalil’s World

Alishba Khalil's Story
Alishba Khalil, a 17-year-old girl from Muzaffargarh, had been facing significant challenges due to impaired and blurred vision in her right eye. This vision problem had originated from a trauma to her right eye, which had left her struggling to see clearly. Alishba’s condition was deteriorating, and it was making daily activities increasingly difficult, especially when it came to studying or even walking around.
Concerned about their daughter’s deteriorating vision, Alishba’s parents took her to a nearby hospital, where a thorough examination revealed that she had a subluxated lens in her right eye. This condition occurs when the lens becomes partially displaced but remains within the eye’s lens space. To correct this issue and restore her vision, the doctor recommended a right lensectomy and scleral fixation. However, Alishba’s family couldn’t afford the surgery.
Alishba lived in a small house with her parents and four siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked at a grocery store and earned only PKR 28,000 per month. This income was barely enough to cover the family’s basic needs, including utility bills and educational expenses. The added cost of the surgery was a heavy burden that the family could not afford. During this time of need, Alishba’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. We registered her case and arranged for her to receive the much-needed surgery.
On December 10, 2024, Alishba Khalil underwent a successful right lensectomy and scleral fixation surgery at Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital in Multan. Performed by Dr. Asif Manzoor, the procedure restored clarity to her vision, marking a turning point in her life.
Alishba’s vision improved immediately, bringing immense relief to her family. Her parents shared their gratitude as follows:
“You have changed our daughter’s life. She can see clearly now. This change in her life wouldn’t have been possible without your support. We can never forget your generosity.”
Alishba is now recovering well, filled with new hope and determination for the future. With her sight restored, she looks forward to pursuing her dreams and embracing a brighter tomorrow. Her family is immensely grateful to you for changing her life.
