Maryam Bibi Can See Clearly Now
Maryam Bibi's Story
Maryam Bibi, a 26-year-old woman from Multan, had been struggling with blurry and dim vision for a long time. As a housewife and a mother to a young child, her deteriorating eyesight made daily life increasingly challenging. She often found herself relying on her family members for assistance, which caused her great distress. Concerned about her condition, Maryam received medical advice at a local hospital. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with a cataract in her left eye and recommended Phaco + IOL surgery to restore her vision. While this news gave her hope, the cost of the procedure was overwhelming for her family.
Maryam lived in a small rented apartment with her joint family of seven members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner, worked at a bike paint shop, earning only PKR 35,000 per month. With this limited income, covering daily household expenses, rent, and other necessities was already a struggle. The cost of Maryam’s surgery was beyond their reach, leaving the family in despair. With hope in their hearts, they turned to Transparent Hands for support. After reviewing her case, we promptly registered her for surgery.
On January 07, 2025, Maryam was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital, Multan. The next day, January 08, 2025, Dr. Asif successfully performed her Phaco + IOL surgery. After a smooth and successful procedure, Maryam was discharged on the same day.
Overwhelmed with joy and gratitude, Maryam expressed her heartfelt thanks as follows:
“I cannot describe the happiness I feel. This surgery has given me a new life. I can now take care of my child without struggling, and I no longer have to depend on others. I am immensely grateful to everyone who made this possible.”
Following the surgery, Maryam is recovering. She can finally resume her daily activities without any difficulty.
Maryam’s family is overjoyed to see her regain her independence. They extend their sincere gratitude to you as you brought light back into her world.
