Bashira Bibi, a 51-year-old woman from Kasur, had been battling with a growing health problem for the past two years. A small lump appeared on the front of her neck, which she initially ignored, assuming it would subside with medicines. Over time, she began experiencing discomfort, difficulty swallowing, episodes of restlessness, fatigue, and a constant feeling of unease. Concerned for her health, her family took her to a hospital for a detailed evaluation. After conducting necessary tests, the doctors diagnosed her with Toxic Multinodular Goiter (MNG). Due to the size of the goiter and the severity of her symptoms, the doctor advised her to start on medication to stabilize her condition, followed by a Subtotal Thyroidectomy.

However, the cost of the surgery was beyond Bashira’s means. She relies entirely on her two sons, who run a small grocery store together, earning around PKR 45,000 per month. Their limited income is already stretched thin to cover daily expenses, leaving no possibility of affording the required surgical treatment. In search of hope, Bashira turned to Transparent Hands. After reviewing her medical reports, we registered her case.

On July 2, 2025, she was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Ahmad Fawad successfully performed the Subtotal Thyroidectomy on July 2, 2025. After receiving appropriate post-operative care, Bashira was discharged in stable condition on July 4, 2025.
