Zayan Awaits Open-Heart Surgery
Muhammad Zayan's Story
Muhammad Zayan, a 1-year-old baby boy from Lahore, has been battling for every breath since the day he was born. His parents first noticed his difficulty in breathing and bluish discoloration of his skin shortly after birth. Moreover, Zayan becomes easily fatigued, even with minimal activity. Recently, his parents took him to a cardiac center for a check-up. He underwent detailed diagnostic testing. The results revealed that Zayan is suffering from Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a serious congenital heart defect involving four heart abnormalities. The doctor has advised open-heart surgery for total correction, but his family can’t afford the surgery.
Without this surgery, his condition will continue to deteriorate, putting his life at risk. The doctor warned that delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure.
Zayan’s family lives in a small rented house in Lahore with six members. His father works as a daily wager, and his mother earns a modest income as a housemaid. Together, they barely manage to earn PKR 30,000 per month. Out of this limited income, PKR 10,000 goes towards house rent, PKR 1500 for utility bills, and PKR 4000 for the children’s educational expenses. On top of this, the family is burdened with a loan of PKR 150,000. Their financial situation leaves no room for the high cost of Zayan’s heart surgery. During this time of need, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
With tearful eyes, Zayan’s parents shared:
“It breaks our hearts whenever we see our son struggle to breathe. We want nothing more than to see him smile, run, and play like other children. We’re doing everything we can, but we need your help to save our son’s life.”
Zayan’s life is hanging in the balance, but your support can give him a second chance.

Muhammad Zayan's Story
Muhammad Zayan, a 1-year-old boy from Lahore, had been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Even with minimal activity, he used to become fatigued and struggle to catch breath. His skin and lips often turned blue, an alarming sign that his body was not getting enough oxygen. Worried about his condition, his parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some necessary tests, the doctor diagnosed Zayan with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). To save his life, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family’s means.
Zayan lives in a modest rented home with his six family members. His father works hard as a daily wage laborer, and his mother is a housemaid. Together, they manage to bring in just PKR 30,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, managing day-to-day expenses is a significant challenge. Facing financial hardships, affording to pay for Zayan’s life-saving surgery was impossible for his family. Their neighbors became a source of hope when they told them about Transparent Hands. Zayan’s family turned to us and asked for help. Understanding the severity of his condition, we swiftly registered his case.
On June 29, 2025, Zayan was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. His surgery took place on June 30, 2025. Dr. Asim Khan performed the surgery with great care. The procedure went smoothly, and Zayan received proper post-operative care in the ICU. He was discharged in satisfactory condition on July 3, 2025.
Zayan’s parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“Watching him suffer every day broke our hearts, but today we see him breathing without difficulty. This surgery was possible only because of your generosity. We are immensely grateful for your support that saved our son’s life.”
Zayan is now on the path to a healthier childhood. His parents no longer have to live in constant fear for his life. They extend their deepest gratitude to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for ensuring Zayan’s recovery from Tetralogy of Fallot.
