Ezan Bibi's Story

Meet Ezan Bibi, a 55-year-old woman from Karachi, who has been facing a significant health issue for the past six years. After undergoing a cholecystectomy, she developed swelling at the site of her previous surgical scar. Over time, the swelling kept increasing, and now it has become painful and has started affecting her daily life.Recently, the pain became so intense that Ezan Bibi was unable to carry out even simple household tasks. Concerned about her worsening condition, her family took her to the hospital for a medical evaluation. After thorough tests and examination, the doctors diagnosed her with an incisional hernia, a condition where the tissues push through the weakened spot in the abdomen at the site of a previous surgery. The doctor has strongly advised mesh repair surgery, but her family can’t afford the surgery.

Without timely surgery, her condition may lead to severe pain, bowel obstruction, or even life-threatening strangulation of the intestines. Delay in treatment will only worsen her health, making it impossible for her to look after herself or her family.

Ezan Bibi lives in a small rented house with her joint family of five members. Her son is the only breadwinner, working hard as a shopkeeper and bringing home a modest monthly income of PKR 25,000. This small income barely covers their essentials, leaving them with no savings for a medical procedure. The family pays PKR 12,000 for monthly rent and another PKR 2,500 for utility bills. They are reaching out for help as they cannot afford the cost of this much-needed surgery.

Ezan Bibi said with teary eyes:

“I have been living with this pain for years, and now it has become unbearable. I can’t perform my daily tasks or take care of my family. I dream of living without this constant discomfort. I request you to be kind and support my surgery.”

Your donations can help relieve Ezan Bibi from her years of pain and give her a chance to regain her health and dignity. Let’s stand together and change her life.

Ezan Bibi's Story

Ezan Bibi, a 55-year-old resident of Karachi, had been battling with a growing health issue for the past six years. After undergoing a cholecystectomy, she developed swelling near the site of her previous surgical scar. Initially mild, the swelling gradually increased in size over the years and became more painful with time. However, the pain eventually grew so severe that even basic household chores became impossible for her. Alarmed by her deteriorating condition, her family took her to a local hospital, where she underwent several tests and a thorough medical evaluation. The doctors diagnosed her with an incisional hernia, a condition that occurs when internal tissues push through a weakened area of the abdominal wall at the site of a past surgery. To prevent further complications and to relieve her symptoms, the doctors recommended a mesh repair surgery.

Unfortunately, the cost of this essential surgical procedure was far beyond Ezan’s means. She lives in a small rented house with her joint family of five. Her son, the sole earner of the household, works as a shopkeeper and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. With such limited income, the family struggles to cover daily expenses. During their search for help, they reached out to Transparent Hands. After reviewing her case, we registered Ezan for free surgical assistance.

On June 17, 2025, she was admitted to Altamash General Hospital, Karachi. There, Dr. Shameen Shoaib successfully performed the mesh repair surgery for her incisional hernia. After receiving appropriate post-operative care, Ezan was discharged in good health on June 20, 2025.

Ezan Bibi said with happiness: “I had been in pain for years and thought I would never get better. With your support, I was able to receive the surgery. I can now move around and take care of my home without pain. I am truly grateful to you for supporting my surgery.”

Ezan has now returned to a life free of pain and limitations. With the swelling gone and mobility restored, she can once again manage her daily activities without discomfort.

Your support enabled her to live a comfortable life, and her entire family is deeply thankful for the kindness extended to them.
