Rehmat Bibi Awaits a Safe C-section
Rehmat Bibi's Story
Rehmat Bibi, a 26-year-old woman from Multan, is over 33 weeks pregnant and anxiously awaiting the birth of her child. Rehmat has a history of three previous C-sections. After learning about her pregnancy, she went to a local hospital and consulted a gynecologist. Due to her medical history, her gynecologist has recommended an elective C-section to ensure the safe delivery of her baby. However, the cost of the C-section is out of her family’s reach.
If Rehmat does not undergo the required C-section, she and her baby may face serious complications. It may include uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, and fetal distress.
Rehmat lives with her husband and three children in a modest rented house in Multan. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer and earns approximately PKR 20,000 per month. With a monthly rent of PKR 4,000, utility bills amounting to PKR 1,200, and educational expenses of PKR 800 for their children, the family is left with very little to cover other essentials. Affording the cost of this necessary C-section is beyond their financial capacity. The anxiety and fear of not being able to afford the surgery are weighing heavily on her and her family. During this moment of desperation, Rehmat’s husband reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
With tearful eyes, her husband said:

Rehmat Bibi's Story
Rehmat Bibi, a 26-year-old woman from Multan, was experiencing a crucial moment in her life. She was expecting her fourth child, but her heart was filled with worries. Due to her history of three C-sections in the past, her pregnancy was considered high-risk. To ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby, the doctor advised another C-section for childbirth. However, the cost of the C-section was beyond her family’s financial capacity.
Rehmat lived in a modest rented home in Multan with her husband and three children. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and earned just PKR 20,000 per month. A significant portion of his income went towards their house rent, utility bills, and children’s school fees. After covering these expenses, they were left with nothing to save for Rehmat’s C-section. During this challenging time, Rehmat turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.
On June 24, 2025, Rehmat was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital in Multan. Her C-section was performed on the same day by Dr. Asim Iqbal. The procedure went smoothly, and she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Rehmat received essential post-operative care and was discharged in good health on June 26, 2025.
Rehmat expressed her happiness as follows: “I feared for my life and my baby’s safety because of my medical history. Today, I hold my healthy baby girl in my arms and feel blessed. I am deeply thankful to you for coming forward and supporting my C-section.”
