Noor Alam Shah, a 63-year-old man from Mansehra, KPK, is suffering from shortness of breath and repeated episodes of chest pain. Any mild to moderate physical activity leaves him gasping for air. Noor Alam faces immense challenges while performing his job as a laborer. His worsening condition has made each day more challenging. Recently, he visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Noor Alam with Ischemic Heart Disease – Triple Vessel Coronary Artery Disease.

It is a severe heart condition in which three major coronary arteries become blocked or narrowed, reducing blood flow to the heart. To save his life, the doctor has advised an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). However, the cost of the surgery is beyond his means.

Without this surgery, Noor Alam’s condition will continue to deteriorate. It may lead to severe complications, and he may not be able to beat the disease.

Noor Alam lives in a two-room brick house with his joint family of eight members. He works as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 25,000 per month. With this meager income, they hardly manage to pay for their utility bills as well as food expenses. The cost of Noor Alam’s life-saving surgery is something that can’t be managed with this income. He wishes to live a long life, but his financial constraints stand in the way of his recovery.
