Muhammad Idress's Story

Muhammad Idress, a 16-year-old boy from Sahiwal, has faced immense challenges at a young age. One year ago, Idress was involved in a tragic road accident with a truck, which crushed his left leg. A stranger took him to the nearest hospital. After evaluating the severe trauma, the doctors had no choice but to perform a left below-knee amputation. Since that day, Idress’s life has been turned upside down. Once an active, lively boy who loved running around with his friends, and helping his family, Idress now struggles to even move around without support. His doctor has advised him to undergo a left below-knee prosthesis fitting. This prosthetic limb would allow Idress to regain mobility, and stand on his feet again. However, the cost of the prosthesis is far beyond what Idress’s family can afford.

Without a prosthesis, Idrees will remain dependent on others for basic tasks, and face long-term emotional and physical decline.

Idress’s father works as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 20,000 per month, which barely covers their basic needs. The family of eight, including Idress and his five siblings — lives in modest conditions, managing essential expenses like PKR 1,500 for education and PKR 700 for utility bills. With such limited resources, affording a prosthetic limb seems like an impossible dream.

Idress’s parents said in despair:

“We’ve seen our son’s spirit crushed after the accident, but we still hold onto hope. We want to see him smile, run, and play like before. However, we can’t afford the prosthesis. But with your help, we believe he can stand again.”

You can change Idrees’s life. With your support, Idrees can receive the prosthesis to walk again, regain his independence, and return to a normal life.

Come forward to restore his lost smile, rebuild his dreams, and give him the chance to live with dignity and hope once again.

Muhammad Idress's Story

Muhammad Idress, a 16-year-old boy from Sahiwal, had his life turned upside down when he was hit by a truck one year ago. This incident crushed his left leg. He was taken to the hospital by a stranger. After evaluating his condition, the doctors decided to amputate his left leg below the knee. Since then, Idress’s life had been filled with challenges. He was unable to perform his routine tasks properly, and his quality of life was badly affected. To enable him to walk, his doctor advised a left below-knee prosthesis. However, his family was unable to afford this artificial limb.

Idress lives in a modest home with his parents and five siblings. His father, the only breadwinner, works as a laborer and earns PKR 20,000 per month. With a large family to support, his income barely covered essential needs, such as food, education, and utility bills. The possibility of affording an artificial limb seemed impossible for them. During this difficult situation, they reached out to Transparent Hands for support. After listening to his concerns, we promptly registered his case. Through generous contributions, Transparent Hands arranged Idress’s left below-knee prosthesis.

On July 12, 2025, he received his artificial limb at the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD) in Lahore. The procedure was performed under the supervision of Dr. Shabana.

Idress expressed his gratitude as follows:

“I am deeply grateful to all the kind people who supported me. For months, I felt helpless and thought I would never walk again. Today, I can move freely with my prosthetic limb. Your generosity has given me strength, independence, and a new beginning. Thank you for changing my life.”

The moment Idress stood and took his first steps with the prosthesis was filled with hope and determination. He now looks ahead with new hope. His family is incredibly grateful to you for extending your support to them during their challenging time.
