Enable Khalida to Walk with Knee Replacement Surgery
Khalida Parveen's Story
Khalida Parveen, a 51-year-old widow from Lahore, is living in constant stress due to a severe pain in her right knee. For a long time, she has suffered from swelling, stiffness, and unbearable pain in her knee joint. The discomfort has reached a point where she struggles to walk without support. In search of relief, Khalida visited a hospital where she underwent a medical evaluation. After conducting an X-ray and some necessary tests, the doctors diagnosed her with Grade 4 Osteoarthritis of the right knee. This condition is considered severe, characterized by a reduced joint space, cartilage loss, significant bone spurs, and potential joint deformity.
To restore her mobility and ability to walk independently, her doctor recommended a right-sided Total Knee Replacement (TKR). Unfortunately, the cost of this procedure is far beyond Khalida’s financial means.
If left untreated, her condition will continue to worsen. It may lead to permanent disability and complete dependency on others. Without surgery, she risks losing her ability to walk, which may make her life even more challenging.
Khalida is a widow and has no source of income. She has two sons, but they are still very young and not old enough to earn or support the family. To survive, she relies on financial help from her relatives, but even that is barely enough to cover basic needs, including monthly utility bills amounting to PKR 1,500. Due to their financial circumstances, affording her surgery is not possible for them.
With a heavy heart, Khalida expressed her plea as follows:
“My knee hurts so much that I cannot walk properly anymore. I need support even for small movements. Being a widow with young sons, I have no means to arrange money for this surgery. I request you to help me get treated so I can walk again without pain.”
Khalida relies on your generosity. Your support can restore Khalida’s mobility and independence.
Be kind and donate now to relieve her discomfort and enable her to walk without support.
