Ease Noor Bakht’s Pain with Hip Surgery
Noor Bakht's Story
Noor Bakht, a 73-year-old woman from Lahore, has been experiencing pain in both of her hip joints for the past several years. What started as a dull ache has now turned into persistent pain that makes even the simplest movements unbearable. Daily activities such as walking, climbing stairs, or getting out of bed have become extremely difficult for her. Concerned for her health, her family took her to a local hospital. After a thorough consultation, X-rays, and related tests, the doctors diagnosed her with severe osteoarthritis of both hip joints. This degenerative joint disease has worn down the cartilage in her hip, leaving her bones to painfully rub against each other.
Her left hip joint is more affected. Therefore, the doctor recommended a Left Total Hip Replacement (THR) to restore her mobility. However, her family can’t afford the surgery. Without this surgery, Noor’s condition will continue to worsen. It may make her completely bedridden and lead to joint deformity and further cartilage damage.
Noor lives with her daughter and son-in-law in a small home in Lahore. Her son-in-law works as a security guard and earns around PKR 35,000 per month. He is the only breadwinner in the family and struggles to meet their day-to-day needs. With a limited income and rising expenses for food, utilities, and other essentials, they are unable to afford the cost of Noor’s life-changing surgery. During this difficult time, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
With teary eyes, her daughter shared:
“I can’t see my mother struggle to sit, stand, and walk. She is old now and deserves to live the remaining years of her life with comfort and joy. We want to help her get better, but we simply don’t have the money. All we wish is to see her walk again without pain.”
You can make a difference in Noor’s life. Your generous donations will help her receive the life-changing hip replacement surgery. Let’s join hands to change her life.

Noor Bakht's Story
Noor Bakht, a 73-year-old woman from Lahore, experienced constant pain in both of her hip joints. Walking across a room, climbing a single step, or getting out of bed in the morning became nearly impossible for her. Each movement was accompanied by discomfort, forcing her into a life of dependence on her family members. Worried about her deteriorating health, her family took her to a local hospital where doctors performed X-rays and related tests. After undergoing a detailed evaluation, she was diagnosed with severe osteoarthritis of both hip joints. This left her bones rubbing against each other, causing unbearable pain. Among both hips, her left hip joint was more severely affected. To relieve her suffering and restore her mobility, the doctor recommended a Left Total Hip Replacement (THR).
While the surgery was essential, Noor’s family was unable to afford the surgical cost. She lives with her daughter and son-in-law in a small home in Lahore. Her son-in-law works as a security guard and earns just PKR 35,000 per month. With his modest income, he struggles to manage household expenses, leaving no possibility of affording the surgery. Desperate for a solution, the family reached out to Transparent Hands. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.
On July 15, 2025, Noor Bakht was admitted to the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD) in Lahore. Her left-sided Total Hip Replacement was successfully performed by Dr. Saleem Bashir on July 16, 2025. The surgery went smoothly, and she received post-operative care. She was discharged in good health on July 18, 2025.
Noor Bakht described her happiness as follows: “I am truly thankful to you for making my surgery possible. For years, I lived in constant pain and could not move without help. After the surgery, I feel like a new person. Your support has brought comfort back into my life.”
After her successful surgery, Noor Bakht’s life has changed remarkably. She can now walk and carry out her daily tasks with ease. She and her family are grateful to you for bringing her relief and restoring her mobility.
