Chahat Fatima's Story

Meet Chahat Fatima, a 26-year-old woman from Lahore, is facing a challenging moment in her life. Born with poly foot and osteomyelitis, her life has been a constant struggle against her condition. Her leg got infected and a below-knee amputation of her left leg was performed on 22nd July 2024. Since the loss of her left leg, her life has been filled with challenges and hardships. Performing daily chores such as getting in and out of bed, and walking around the house has become significantly challenging for her. She consulted a doctor about her condition, who recommended a below-knee prosthesis to restore her ability to walk. However, Chahat’s family can’t afford the cost of her much-needed artificial leg.

Chahat is unable to walk, perform household tasks, or engage in the activities she once loved. A below-knee prosthesis is her key to reclaiming her life. Without a prosthetic limb, Chahat will face limited mobility, making it difficult to perform everyday tasks or pursue her ambitions.

Chahat Fatima lives in a two-room brick house with her siblings and parents. She has three siblings, one of them is studying and the other two are married. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works in a shop and brings in PKR 50,000 per month. With this insufficient monthly income, they hardly manage to pay for utility bills, educational expenses, groceries, and other living expenses. They have no savings at all to pay for her artificial leg. During this time of need, Chahat reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

Chahat expressed her plea as follows:

“After losing my leg, I struggle every day to walk. An artificial leg would change my life, and allow me to stand on my own two feet, but it’s cost is beyond our means. I need your help to walk again.”

Without a prosthetic limb, Chahat’s independence and future opportunities would be drastically limited. However, your support can make a real difference in her life, helping her access the prosthetic limb she desperately needs. Every contribution brings her one step closer to her dream of walking again.

Consider donating today and give Chahat a chance to live a normal life.

Chahat Fatima's Story

Chahat Fatima, a 26-year-old woman from Lahore, faced a tragic incident in her life. Born with poly foot with resultant chronic osteomyelitis, her life was filled with hardships. Due to an infection in her left leg, her below-knee amputation was performed on 22nd July 2024. The amputation left her dependent on others for even the simplest tasks. Once a vibrant and independent woman, Chahat was now confined to her home, filled with despair and hopelessness. She consulted a doctor about her condition, who recommended a below-knee prosthesis. Chahat longed to regain her mobility but lacked the financial means to afford an artificial leg.

Chahat lived in a small brick house with her parents and three siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked at a shop and earned PKR 50,000 per month. With a limited income, they struggled to cover even basic needs. To restore her independence and pursue her ambitions in life, Chahat desperately needed a prosthetic leg. Unfortunately, her financial constraints made it challenging for her to receive an artificial leg. Chahat longed for the day when she could walk without the support of others. Finally, a day came when someone told her about

Transparent Hands. Chahat contacted us and asked for assistance. After learning about her critical situation, we swiftly registered her case. On 18th November 2024, Chahat’s below-knee prosthesis was fitted at Hope Rehabilitation Centre Lahote. Her procedure was performed under the keen supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz, bringing a wave of joy to Chahat’s life.

Chahat expressed her emotions as follows:

“Walking on my own was a distant dream, but you made it possible. I feel alive and independent again. Thank you for this incredible gift.”

Now, Chahat walks confidently with her prosthesis. She can resume her daily activities and feels empowered to face the future. Her life has been changed, and she looks forward to rebuilding her confidence and contributing to her family. All is made possible just because of your donations.
